GIS LINEAR REFERENCE DEVELOPER

SKILLS: GIS development experience with knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS10+ Suite, Enterprise software development, Data Structures, XML, OOD/OOP, C#, .NET framework and Windows Forms, SQL with Oracle or SQL Server

SUMMARY:

Agile is seeking a candidate who is an experienced developer in GIS technology in an Enterprise level environment. The candidate should be highly motivated and a self-starter who has demonstrated successful experience in delivering solutions within an enterprise development environment. The ability to translate technical requirements to programming solutions across different substantive areas using ESRI ArcGIS software is critical to this role. The candidate will be involved in all stages of the full software development life cycle from gathering requirements, scoping, analysis, design, implementation and quality assurance to delivery, application support and training. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity in downtown Atlanta.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will design and develop Windows Forms applications and applications extending the ArcGIS 10+ suite using C# and .NET technologies, including the design, development and implementation of tools for:

- data creation and maintenance
- linear reference calibration
- route and point event data creation and maintenance, and
- QA/QC operations to verify and validate the spatial correctness of GIS data
- The candidate will also write software against Oracle Spatial 11g+ and/or ESRI geodatabases in multi-user environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of experience in Enterprise software development
- Sound knowledge of Data Structures and XML
- Strong concepts in Object-oriented design and programming
- Familiarity with Structured Query Language with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
- 3+ years of experience with C#, .NET framework and Windows Forms
- 3 - 5 years GIS development experience with knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS10+ Suite (ArcObjects, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS for Server), REST Services, and Oracle Spatial 11g+
- Server Object Extensions and ArcSDE APIs
- Firm conceptual and working knowledge of Linear Referencing Systems, including route definition, calibration, deriving and generating point and route events

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Familiarity with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) service architecture
- Experience with developing ArcGIS 10+ Server Object Extensions
- Knowledge of ESRI Silverlight/WPF API
- Familiarity with JavaScript and the ESRI JavaScript API
- Working knowledge of Oracle Spatial 11g+
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Team orientation, self-motivated and detail-oriented
