GIS Analyst

GIS Analyst to provide development, maintenance, technical, and computer support of spatial data systems as needed by the Engineering department. The GIS Analyst will manage, provide, maintain, and enhance access to hundreds of gigabytes of spatial data. This is a long term contract assignment for major company in downtown Atlanta.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Research, development, programming, and management of GIS tools, applications, and interfaces of spatially referenced datasets in support of department and clients
- Manage, provide, maintain, and enhance access to hundreds of gigabytes of spatial data as part of the company's enterprise GIS solution
- Provide continuity of all existing layers of GIS data to integrate with other company data and GIS systems
- Provide GIS data mining to provide answers to client questions and supports over 300 end users

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Computer Systems, or other related field of study is required
- GIS Certification or ability to achieve it with approved, professional organization is strongly preferred
- A detailed knowledge of ESRI's family of ArcGIS products is a must
- The following experience in CAD-GIS data interoperability, ESRI ArcGIS server, mobile GIS, ERDAS Imagine, and or Python programming is a plus
- Previous experience with at least two years of experience working with GIS in an engineering consulting firm or its equivalent is needed
- Experience with an electric utility or other utility is a plus
