For our client, a large player in the Silicon Valley giant, we are currently hiring a German Linguist (f/m).

Location: Berlin (Hamburg is also possible)

Tasks:
- Translating and editing the site user interface
- Coordinating and supervising a team of UI translators to ensure high quality of the translations they deliver
- Performing testing of the translated UIs to identify linguistic and functional issues
- Working closely with the Language Manager to deliver market-appropriate translations
- Performing terminology maintenance and style guide upkeep, in close collaboration with the Language Manager
- Occasionally standing in for the Language Manager to provide localizability information and other advanced linguistic advice
- Monitoring and managing the activity of our community of German volunteer translators

Qualifications:
- fluency in German and near-native fluency in English
- At least 3 years of experience in English-to-German translation
- Degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics, Communications or similar
- Experience in the social media and mobile space
- Knowledge of online advertising platforms and concepts
- Copywriting/editing experience would be a plus
- Familiarity computer-aided translation tools
- Good familiarity with German culture and trends
- Experience in localization project management would be a plus
