Geotechnical Engineer

Geotech needed for a leading International E&P company located in Houston, TX. This role is for contract to hire with a very flexible work schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Will be in charge of our log database and working with the other interpreters to provide geological input.
- Experience using the following software a plus: PETRA, Paradigm Geotechnology, PaleoMag (Palaeomagnetic Directional Analysis and Statistics), Landmark Interpretation.
- Should be able to demonstrate the ability to integrate seismic interpretations with depositional systems for regional to prospect level geologic support.
- Load well logs and use Petra for geological interpretation.

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years experience as a Geotech who has worked the Gulf of Mexico for a major or large independent is a plus.
- Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Experience and knowledge of well logs, core, etc. Seismic experience and Log analysis/petrophysical experience is a plus.
- Experience in loading 3-D seismic into workstations. Knowledge of Paradigm software for seismic interpretation. Experience in ArcGIS is also a plus.
- Landmark (OpenWorks) or GeoFrame (occasional loading of 3-D in SMT is not enough).
