Generator Technician

Generator technician/Winder operator required for a world leading Energy Company based out of Dartford in Kent for a 3 month initial contract with the intention to go permanent after this period. Candidates will be working 40 hours per week on average however overtime is available if required. This position would require candidates to be willing to work off site and potentially off shore as well for limited periods. For any over time and off shore work over time rates would be double time

Roles and responsibilities

* Conducting repairs on industrial generators

* Adjusting tension rolls on machine and sets yardage counter, using handtools.

* Examines material for pinholes, using magnifying glass.

* Executing works as per work instructions

* Adhering to health and safety at all times

* Tending winding machine, HVB repair, covering various stages of processing, working as member of crew, using power hoist etc.

* Conducting housekeeping and Environmental Health and safety on generator area

Skills and competencies required

* Ability to perform some of the following/stator rewinds, bar replacement, blocking enhancement, end winding upgrades, HVB repair and replacement, field rewind, rings of inspection, brazing, motor overhaul and repair

* 3 years experience preferable

* Experience with repairing industrial motors or other heavy manufacturing equipment

* Passport and drivers licence required

* Electronics, mechanical or electromechanical Qualification preferable
