Games Developer (Simulator Development)

OVERVIEW
* Position: Games Developer (Simulator Development). Location: Warrington. Length: 12 months +. Hours: 39 per week. Rate: £35 to £40 per hour

OBJECTIVE
The role is primarily to produce and support the production of interactive simulations of operational nuclear plants and for simulating decommissioning tasks in the UK's Legacy nuclear facilities. The simulations will be used in the design and operational phases of nuclear installation projects. The role also includes producing animations and associated videos of nuclear operations to demonstrate mission feasibility to customers and safety committees. Typical applications may simulate mechanical handling equipment, robot mechanisms, tooling and manipulating items, such as solid objects and fluids. Interaction with simulations will use a range of human input devices, such as joysticks, haptics and novel VR devices.

DELIVERABLES
* Producing interactive simulations, animations and plant fly-throughs..
* Integration of simulations within real plant deployment systems to satisfy end users.

KEY SKILLS
* Relevant honours degree (eg Computer Games Programming) or relevant level of experience..
* Good communication and presentation skills..
* Good understanding of computer game programming..
* Computer network programming..
* Experience with deploying applications on a range of computing platforms..
* Systems integration with proprietary hardware..
* Excellent mathematical skills, especially in rigid body transforms, kinematics, vector algebra and linear algebra..
* Advanced programming skills in C++ and C#..
* Full understanding of the Unity games engine, environment and API..
* Excellent knowledge and experience of Scripting Unity with C#.
* Full understanding of the NVIDIA physics engine.
