Functional Safety Engineer Job

FUNCTIONAL SAFETY ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in HOUSTON, TX.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Position is responsible for development and long term management of Functional Safety products throughout the Functional Safety Lifecycle.
- Position is responsible for leading the Functional Safety organization for Drilling.
- This requires the incumbent to work within a dynamic cross-discipline, cross-organization management environment.
- This position is expected to have a role in improving product quality by performing DFR analysis for specific drilling equipment projects.
- Support development of SIL capable BOP control systems including SIF loop architecture development and SIL verification.
- Work closely with multi-functional teams of Technology, Services, Product Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Quality to
- Effectively communicate and document results for internal and external customers.
- Interface with TR&S to help in determination of SIL applicability
- Manage Safety Life Cycle (SLC) for projects (eg OTR, NPI programs)
- Issue all functional safety (SIL) related documents: eg Risk Assessment, SIL Allocation, SIL Verification, Safety Manual, FMEDA, draft SRS, etc.
- Prepare and deliver functional safety reviews and drive to gain 3rd party certification of SIL rated products/systems
- Provide long term support to drilling contractors for maintenance and testing of SIL rated equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Adv. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or Material Science. Will consider BS degree with ten (10+) years of experience.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in the design or maintenance of Drilling and Production Systems.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in the design or maintenance of Functional Safety certified equipment or systems.
- CFSE Certification.
