Functional Safety Engineer

I am looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join an established engineering consultancy based in Coventry.

You will need the following.

Experience of working to ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or an equivalent standard.
Extensive and proven experience of hazard identification and classification, safety case writing and verification validation planning are essential.
Embedded software systems engineering background

We'll look to you to lead activities in accordance with the Functional Safety Lifecycle model, so previous experience of this is a must, along with a history of deriving safety requirements that are both rational and logical, and well documented. And as you'll liaise closely with both internal and external partners, including tier 1 suppliers, you'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-Experience of automotive hazard analysis, risk assessment, requirements authoring and management. Familiarity with inductive and deductive safety analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, RBD, ETA and FMEDA would be an advantage, as would an understanding of V model and system engineering. Highly educated and with a good degree in a relevant discipline, we'll also expect you to use your superb communication skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues at many different levels of our organisation
