Functional Data Analyst

Yoh has a one (1+) year contract opportunity for a FUNCTIONAL DATA ANALYST to join our client, a B2B organization, in Bothell, WA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Functional Data Analyst serves as a Reporting Functional Analyst/Data Analyst for the Reporting Implementation Team. This role will be supporting the reporting on the Business to Business (B2B) sales portal for the different levels of report consumers (eg Managers, Product Manager, and Business Analysts). The role will interact with a number of groups, Business Analysts, Developers, and Report Writers to name a few. The Reporting Functional Analyst will be working on website projects where the reporting data will be housed in a large data mart that tracks clickstream, order, fulfillment, and subscriber metrics that is accessed through the Business Intelligence Platform.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan and coordinate tasks associated with simple to complex projects ensuring that your deliverables are accomplished within the project time line.
- Assist business users in clarifying reporting-related requirements.
- Translate reporting - related business requirements into the reporting functional requirements specification document (Data Collection Document) that will be used by site developers, ETL developers, Business Objects developers, and Report Writers.
- Present, review, and take feedback on the Data Collection Document with stakeholders.
- Support Business Analysts with the testing of the reporting requirements during User Acceptance Testing and after the project is released.
- Conduct data profiling on existing production data as it relates to the work at hand.
- Primary on keeping the inventory of clickstream tags current on our SharePoint site.

Job Qualifications:

- Minimum four (4) years of experience with project life cycle.
- Minimum two (2) years as a Business/Functional/System Analyst.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Reporting Functional Analyst/Data Analyst.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with Business Objects or other BI Tools creating reports.
- Minimum one (1) year experience with SharePoint in an administrator role.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills for communicating with managers, report consumers, analysts, and developers.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Must be self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and excel.
- Must have the ability to take ambiguity and clarify it with stakeholders.
- Must have the ability to take functional requirements and turn them into technical specifications.
- Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- Must have bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related discipline (experience may be substituted for a bachelor degree).
- Must have experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).

Preferred Job Qualifications:

- Experience with collecting clickstream metrics on an eCommerce portal.
- SQL experience with Oracle and Netezza databases preferred using query tools such as Nexus or Toad.
- Experience with data warehouse concepts, technologies, and best business practices. This includes data modelling, data sourcing, data transformation, and end-user tools.
- Experience relevant to reporting/analysis in the Sales, Marketing or Finance fields.
- Experience with WebTrends and Omniture is a plus.
- Previous industry experience in eCommerce is highly desired while industry experience in Cellular/Wireless is nice to have.
