Functional Architect

We are currently seeking an experienced Functional Architect to begin work on a 12 month project for our client, a leader in the insurance industry based in Brussels.

Candidates MUST speak fluently in French OR Dutch but with a good/basic understanding of the other language. All candidates must have had experience in Administrative or Financial Services environment.

Required Skills:

- Experience with Application Development of Administrative systems in an IT department (as functional designer 5 years or functional architect 1 year)
- Able to capture main topics in discussions with technical IT people
- Mastering of MS Office tools
- Service Oriented architecture & Enterprise Application Integration patterns & challenges

Your role will be to:

- Challenge and structure business requirements
- Design efficient solutions responding to business requirements (functional an non-functional), the IT capabilities and target visions of the IT systems
- Make impact analysis on existing systems and estimations of the proposed solution
- Describe high level services
- Coach functional designer during the detailed design phase
- The Application Development Functional Architect deals on a daily basis with senior management, peers and junior staff, both internally and externally, with business and professional skills in Information Technology.

Requirements & Solution definition

- You are responsible of gathering & consolidating the business requirements: this includes not only documenting & analysing, but also negotiating, prioritizing, alternatives proposals, definition & organization of the approach for collecting & consolidating the requirements to lead to a consistent & reliable solution.
- You have the ability to analyse, define, design and propose solutions to business problems at the highest level of complexity or in areas calling for significantly innovative approaches.
- The solution proposed takes into account not only the business requirements, but also the application development standards & the operational constraints & risks.

Analysis & Design:

- During development of the target architecture, you compare application options according to function, technology and cost, make a recommendation and develop potential migration paths to the target state model
- You integrate the relevant stakeholders (business/domain experts/) in the analysis & design process to ensure knowledge transfer & coaching.

Realization:

- During the realization phase of applications, you follow up the compliance of architecture with standards and support architecture responsibilities as part of the standard project life cycle
- You are responsible of the functional coherence of the domains you intervened: determination,
- You prepare (test scenarios, test cases) & follow execution of system testing (before qualification)

Client relationship/Stakeholder management

- You assist the development responsible in the customer's relation.
- You establish and maintain working relationships with technology management, business management, program sponsors, key business clients, and infrastructure management

Architecture & Application Lifecycle Management

- Acting as Functional Architect by our client, you deploy a global vision of our functional architecture in order to improve the follow and the global implementation of our User's Requirements.
- You define current and target state application architecture aligned with requirements of the various business and technology initiatives, insuring the necessary coherence in applications architecture.
- You improve and maintain the processes, the tools used to realize our functional architecture analysis.
