FUNCTION LEADER/HEAD OF SERVICE IMPROVEMENT

The University of Leeds One IT Department wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced professional IT Service leader. This is a high profile and pivotal role combining different and disparate functions of the current IT provision into one cohesive and high performing team.

With significant experience working at senior management level you will have a strong customer focus and be able to develop effective relationships with senior stakeholders, business users, architects, technicians and developers and will have full life cycle experience of Requirements and Process Analysis through to implementation. You must also have working knowledge of ITIL.

You will have significant experience of planning and managing resources and budgets in excess of £1m p.a. You will be required to keep abreast of current thinking and issues across the academic environment and understand and advise on the impact of transformational change in the areas of Service Management and Technology. With responsibility for providing service delivery focus and support across the IT department, you will, in particular:

- Provide leadership and direction, guidance and support to the Service Management, Technology Management, Faculty and Service areas, in fulfilling the University's objectives in a timely and cost effective manner
- To develop a credible, proactive, and integrated Service and Technology capability consistently across the university
- Ensure that service and technology infrastructure delivery across the University are provided on time, budget and to the defined quality standards of the University
- Measure and improve University satisfaction and improve the Service delivery capability
- provide plan and process coordination and Management Information across the Service Management and Technology Management functions
- Establish and manage the Service Management and Technology Management portfolio and budgets ensuring they are sustainable and value for money
- Ensure an optimal resource mix is in place across Service Management, Technology Management, Faculty and Service areas in terms of service delivery and in line with forecast
- Provide professional leadership in the implementation of service best practice based upon Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) across the Service Management and Technology Management functions and transformational change in this regard across the University
- Provide professional leadership in the development of technology policies and roadmaps
