Acorn is recruiting on behalf of our client, a Front End Website Developer in Dublin.

A Front End Website Developer is required to join an established government organisation responsible for promoting enterprise and growth based in Dublin, Ireland.

The contract is initially for an 18 month period.

The successful candidate will provide assistance to the work of the Web Delivery Team in the creation of new design elements and functionality for the clients portfolio of websites.

Working alongside a small team consisting of a Web Manager, Web Systems and Design Specialists you will be completing tasks relating to delivering new functionality and design elements to the portfolio of websites.

Person specification:

Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

Strong familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or similar graphic/photo editing software.

Strong familiarity with Adobe Illustrator.

Experience with web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.

Familiarity with Google Analytics and website traffic analysis.

Strong knowledge of JQuery and Modernizr.

Ability to produce website content that is optimised for the mobile visitor.

In-depth knowledge of SEO principles and practices and how best to apply them.

Familiarity with Content Management Systems such as WordPress or similar would be an advantage.

Fully computer literate, familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to schedule and prioritise work, when working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Show strong analysis skills and attention to detail.

Demonstrate the ability to provide innovative solutions to website design problems.

Willing to learn to use the organisations specific software systems relating to producing and delivering web content.

Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

Able to communicate clearly, confidently and effectively.

Responsibilities will include:

Working as a web specialist within the Web Delivery Team.

Redeveloping. analysing and re-designing the organisations portfolio of websites.

Developing and implementing procedures for locating content to be archived.

Creating and structuring responsive content for the web.

Extensive use of Google Analytics to carry out analysis of website traffic and applying the knowledge gained to deliver improvements to key performance indicators.

Creating/manipulating/optimising website graphics.

Carrying out web browser testing of website and software features when required.
