Front-end web Developer

As well as coding front end interfaces the role involves:
-Providing accurate timing estimates on work.
-Contributing to documentation (training, sales and technical specifications).
-Training/educating non-technical staff.
-Discussing technical solutions with clients and colleagues and providing innovative new

ideas and solutions.
-Maintaining a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to

accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies.

Essential Skills/experience:

-Demonstrable portfolio of front end work.
-Working knowledge of W3C Web Standards, HTML/XHTML and CSS best practices.
-Hand coding semantic html mark-up and maintainable CSS style sheets.
-Strong understanding of JavaScript, including libraries such as jQuery.
-Use of browser-based debugging tools.
-Sound knowledge of WCAG guidelines and strategies, usability principles and SEO

techniques.
-CMS development and implementation.
-Interest in emerging web standards such as HTML5, WAI-ARIA, and CSS3.
-Developing browser compatible user interfaces.
-Excellent eye for detail and good awareness of principals of UI design.
-Adobe Photoshop/Fireworks and image optimisation.
-Working knowledge of IIS, FTP, remote desktop and VMs.

Preferred Skills/experience:

-Knowledge/application of User experience and Interaction design
-OpenText/EPiServer/Umbraco CMS development and implementation.
-Programming knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential.
-Server side programming environments including ASP.NET, MVC and Visual Studio.
-Mobile web, responsive design and social media APIs.
-Delivering end user training and documentation.
-Good understanding of source code control systems, including SourceGear Vault, SVN and

git.
