Front End Developer - SIMS

Capita SIMS is part of the Capita Group, a FTSE100 company. SIMS develops and markets MIS software for Schools in the UK and internationally.

The role offers the opportunity to work as part of a team developing and maintaining a various systems.

The role is based in Bedford, but there may be an occasional requirement to travel. The SIMS Solutions department covers Development, Product Management and Partners. We have approx. 150 staff including 55 offshore split between Product, Project Management, Development, Test and Business Analysis.

Job Description:

The role involves working in an agile software engineering team across.

Combining strong technical, analytical skills, domain and the product knowledge with effective planning you will participate Front End development (ASP.NET/c#).

The job holder will be required to design and develop innovative software solutions, following industry best practice and department procedures and policies throughout the Project Lifecycle. The job holder will be expected to assist their peers and junior team members as necessary, helping to maintain skill levels across the team.

Essential Skills required

*ASP.NET MVC
*Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility and usability
*Cross-browser pixel perfect CSS
*Responsive web design
*JQuery with experience writing plugins and AJAX
*Experience of LESS or SASS CSS pre-processors
