Front-End Developer

Scope of services
The goal of the program is to improve the efficiency of the search performed by the examiners while maintaining or improving its quality for both the examiners and the external users.
To tackle those challenges, II aims at achieving a higher degree of user assistance and automation of prior art search.
This goal supposes to take advantage of modern search technologies and to adapt the existing search process and functionalities.
The Front End of this service has been developed using HTML/CSS/Javascript (JQuery) and relies to some extent on a custom- built Firefox extension which analyses web pages for certain content and tightly interacts with the workflow.

Purpose of Services
The service consists of:
- Further development of the existing web Front End application in a Javascript/JQuery framework: programming, test, integration with the existing CiteNPL workflow
- Analysis of the provided user requirements and identification of implementation solutions
- Liaison with the project team for testing and acceptance
- Provide support related to Front End aspects during development, test and acceptance phases
- Writing technical documentation
- Support the project manager, the technical manager and the technical team members for technical decisions related to the application Front End

The service is to be provided "on- site", the location being The Hague, Rijswijk.

The preferred candidate will have proven experience in the following domains:
- Development of extensions for Firefox
- Javascript library for 2D graphics such as d3.js or protovis

- Analytical skills, including data analysis skills
- Test driven development in an Agile environment
- Operating Systems: Linux
- Jenkins Continuous Integration server
- Nexus artefact repository manager
