FREELANCE TEST AUTOMATION DEVELOPER
CONTEXT
In the framework of the project of data warehouse, a strategy for tests having as cross pillar the automation of tests needs to be in place. The mission, for which we are seeking an additional resource, concerned the following tasks:
•Test boxes design
•Test boxes implementation
•Testing Suite Execution & Analysis
The "test harness" is based on the framework NUnit and add-ins specific BI (mainly NBI).
This mission is being conducted under the supervision of a Test Manager responsible for the "Test strategy" and of the "Test process" as well as a leader of projects, in collaboration with the implementation team of the solution (Microsoft BI).
TASKS
•Based on the received specifications, drafting significant examples illustrating the desired end result.
•Validation of these examples with the stakeholders of the project (business analysts, implementers, etc. )> autonomously.
•Complete or find the specifications with the relevant information that is acquired during the creation or of the validation of examples.
•A part of these automated tests, will be based on the examples that needs to be validated.
•Developing other tests in order to comply with the strategy of testing established.
•Proposing amendments to the strategy on relevant items in function of problems encountered.
•Executing the automated tests and deducting the potential bugs.
•Verifying these potential bugs and reported in a tool for bug tracking.
•When needed, intervenes in the discussions on this bug with the other stakeholders of the project.
•After correction of bugs by the implementation team in provides validation.
•Reporting the advanced in term of quality of the deliverable to the whole team on a regular basis and precise.
•Following the results of deployments during the passages in acceptance and production.
•Drafting a documentation of testing, that is useful and adequate according to the needs of the working conditions.
PROFILE
Test automation developer for BI project:
•Experience in prior testing.
•Autonomous: for the creation of SQL queries and are familiar with the concepts of databases
•A first experience with MDX is an asset, if no experience, the willingness to learn is necessary.
•A first experience with frameworks and runners for automation of tests such as NUnit or equivalent is a plus, if no experience, the willingness to learn is necessary.
•Being able to share and explain his ideas as well as to compare them with the rest of the team. (Collaboration)
•Being able to adapt to a methodology and policies of existing testing, while suggesting possible improvements.
•Communicating with the other stakeholders of the projects in case of doubts or problems with the specifications
•Enriching the existing documentation at the level of the testing, or specifications based on the knowledge that is acquired, and which it does not find
•Communicating with the other stakeholders of the projects to ensure a good flow of information
•Being able to work autonomously and ready to support each step of the testing (design, implementation, execution, results analysis, communication of the latter by using a tool of bug tracking (Team Foundation Server is a small plus)).
