FRAUD STRATEGY & POLICY MANAGER

The role is responsible for working with others in the fraud team to ensure we are maximising our data capability in order to optimise the effectiveness of our Fraud Strategy and Policy across all our products and all of our fraud types. The role will also support in the reduction of fraud losses through effective management and monitoring of models, systems and processes in place.

FRAUD STRATEGY & POLICY MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support in leading the Fraud function, including continual improvement of Fraud systems and performance. This will include responsibility for budget setting and Policy adherence.
- Work with the other Fraud managers to ensure the policy remains leading edge and compliant.
- Deputise for the Head of Fraud as and when required.
- Manage a team of Fraud Analysts and Fraud Senior Analysts. This will include planning of work activities on both a long term and short term basis and developing the team as appropriate.
- Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of Fraud activities through a comprehensive suite of MI, ensuring delivery of agreed performance to enable the business to meet its financial targets
- Build a network of contacts within the market to ensure that we benefit from all the latest anti-fraud initiatives and understands emerging threats within its operating environment, ensuring appropriate anti-fraud initiatives are in place to protect SB from losses
- Report and track risks as appropriate, ensuring effective controls are in place and tested/updated in a timely manner.

FRAUD STRATEGY & POLICY MANAGER KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Significant management experience in a relevant financial services environment with a strong understanding of retail products and channels
- At least 5 years experience in Fraud/Risk Management at a senior level
- Highly PC literate with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications (Word/Excel especially). Experience with SAS although not essential would be advantageous
- Organisational Awareness
- Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent team player with ability to working closely with others to deliver results
- Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team.
- Demonstrate an ability to think and reason logically
- Strong relationship management skills
- Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment, eg able to translate complex/technical issues to meet the audience's competency level
