FPGA Electronics Engineer

I am currently seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer with FPGA & VHDL experience to work with my client based in Belgium.

Some key information regarding the position is as follows:

Rate: up to £50 per hour
Location: Near Antwerp, Belgium
Duration: 6 months initially

Key Information
My client is an established company specialising in the design and provision of various electronic equipment for the space industries. Therefore, some experience in this industry would be an advantage is not essential.

The Role:
Function
In this position, you will be part of our expert electronic design team developing FPGA designs in VHDL for space instruments or equipment for various space applications.

This includes:
Creation of the FPGA requirements both on functional, electrical, analysis, validation level.
Defining the FPGA architecture (including feasibility and risk analysis)
Translating challenging FPGA level requirements into VHDL code
Performing the necessary simulations to prove the correctness of the VHDL code on core and module level (including branch, statement and decision coverage)
Documentation of the VHDL code and its accompanying analysis
Some verification/validation work
Performing validation of the FPGA code on the hardware

Experience Required
We expect you to have relevant experience in a similar technical environment.
Experience with detailed FPGA design for safety-critical or RAD-hard applications is an obvious asset.
A good & practical knowledge of VHDL design and coding techniques
Previous hands-on experience with FPGA design verification and validation (both on simulator as on hardware) is a plus.
We expect you to be a pro-active, creative, enthusiastic and result-oriented team player with a strong focus on details and efficient VHDL code implementation.
Fluency in English is an absolute must.
