FPGA Design Engineer

FPGA/DO-254/VHDL/Hardware Verification Engineer required by a Global Aerospace Organisation based in the Hertfordshire or Birmingham

My client requires a number of FPGA/VHDL Engineers to drive forward a number of business critical projects.

The role will include ownership of FPGA specification and design aspects of this FPGA, developing specifications and code to meet higher level requirements in line with applicable procedures, standards and DO-254 plans.

Full and correct traceability and alignment is required between higher level specifications and code, with architectural and FPGA design aspects traceably documented in an FPGA Design Document. Requirements are being managed in DOORS and code in Dimensions code control tools.

Skill Sets:

- Strong FPGA background
- FPGA specification
- VHDL code design
- Firmware
- Simulation and synthesis
- VHDL simulators (eg Modelsim)
- Synthesis tools (eg Synplicity)
- Familiarity with FPGA technologies (eg Actel, Xilinx, Altera)
- Knowledge of Asic is favourable
- Familiarity with DO-254 (or similar standards, eg space, nuclear or rail industry equivalents)
- Familiarity with Requirements Management (preferably DOORS)

This is a 6 months contract with an immediate start, however, my client will wait for the right people.
