FMECA Engineer

Lead Aerospace-Defence organisation have a new requirement on a new programme for a specialist FMECA Engineer for an initial 12 month contract. The position can be based in either Bristol or Glasgow. Flexible working applies.Important

Reliability Engineering ExperienceThe Job

- To develop/coordinate the FMECA analysis requirements for the programme and its system from stage1 design to acceptance into service.
- To maintain and update the FMECA process including circulation of its output for internal and external reviews and approval.
- To develop the modelling requirements to support the development of system designs and the optimisation for AR&M.
- To assist other support and design engineers in the review of system design to ensure that the appropriate levels of redundancy are maintained.
- This role is to support the Assessment phase, which comprises a number of engineering and support activities.
- This role focuses on developing and coordinating the FMECA activity for Platform and Combat systems which supports the AR required for Main Gate.

Technical Skills

- Experience in the conduct and management of FMECA analysis in a similar project environment to Type 26.
- Experience in functional, availability and reliability modelling.
- Operating experience in a marine environment
- Knowledge and experience of warship design for support activities
- Knowledge of Def-Stan 00-600 and Def Stan 00-45

Major Tasks:

- To develop the detailed plan for the FMECA analysis for the Type 26 and its system from stage1 design to acceptance into service, to support the assessment and validation of the AR&M requirements.
- The coordinate the FMECA analysis to support the overall analysis of the system
- Generate the reports to support the design recommendations derived from the FMECA and its modelling.
- Generate the reports to support the compilation of the R&M Case report
- Generate the reports to support the compilation of the Supportability Case report

Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be eligible to gain UK Security Clearance.
