Flood, Coastal and Risk Management Consultant

FLOOD, COASTAL AND RISK MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT.

CONTRACT £180 TO £225 PER DAY.

My Client a government body located in Suffolk is looking for an experienced Flood, Coastal and Risk Management consultant with experience in Civil/Coastal Engineering or a building related subject, or suitable relevant years of experience.

You will be part of a team of engineers operating with different levels of skills, backgrounds and responsibilities.

DUTIES:

- Delivering work by planning, tracking, gathering, maintaining, quality-assuring and analysing data/information
- Delivery of low to medium risk multi-disciplinary projects and/or activities to time cost quality ensuring successful outcomes are achieved
- Applying up to date, technically sound knowledge to make decisions and provide sound briefing and guidance;Producing clear, concise and persuasive written material and presenting to/briefing more senior staff, colleagues and customers.

- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Resolving problems or responding to complex enquiries
- Managing their own workload with limited supervision
- Liaising with internal and external customers
- Strong team player and able to support others through simple coaching/learning Typical qualifications and experience
- HNC, HND, FdSc BSc or BEng in a Civil/Coastal Engineering or a building related subject, or suitable relevant years of experience
- Any practical experience in an engineering or construction related discipline - ideally design experience but if not then simple aptitude and willingness to learn a process that we can teach
- Any design and site experience - good practical site experience advantageous but not essential
- Understanding and working knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Experience or ability to produce Pre-Construction Information (PCI) documentation, we can teach this given the right aptitude and skills
- Familiarity with technical drawings and ability to use AutoCAD 2007 - we can teach this if no previous experience.
- Knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
