Firmware Engineer - UEFI Job

FIRMWARE ENGINEER - UEFI needed for a short term CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA

THE BIG PICTURE:

- This role will be responsible for assisting in the BRING-UP OF UEFI AND EC FIRMWARE CODE ON A NEW HARDWARE PLATFORM.
- This role requires STRONG TROUBLESHOOTING AND DEBUGGING SKILLS, strong coding skills, and an ability to ramp quickly.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS

- x86 UEFI/BIOS/Firmware development experience
- working knowledge of Intel code bases or BIOS
- windows Kernel experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This role will be responsible for assisting in the BRING-UP OF UEFI AND EC FIRMWARE CODE (PORTING) ON A NEW HARDWARE PLATFORM.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- A BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software and firmware development related fields
- X86 UEFI/BIOS/FIRMWARE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of CURRENT INTEL-BASED PLATFORM BOOT PROCESS & FIRMWARE INTERACTIONS with Windows 7/8 operating systems
- Familiarity with debugging common firmware, Kernel, bootloader, and plumbing layer interaction issues
- Able to develop tools and test code with C++ or Scripting languages

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to handle a JTAG debugger well to quickly identify and resolve issues spanning multiple subsystems
- Experience using hardware debugging tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG, Flash emulators, ICE, etc.
