Firmware Engineer (Embedded Systems)

A multi skilled firmware engineer is required by a rapidly expanding company in West Sussex working with cutting-edge laser technologies for a variety of applications.

This role is available as a contract (35-45/h) or a permanent (40,000) opportunity.

The main purpose of the role is to design and develop control aspects of high power lasers.

Experience is required in:
Industrial control systems design, both embedded and supervisory, including hardware/software interfacing, PLCs, industrial PC or embedded computers
Embedded (microcontroller and CPLD or FPGA) solution design experience
C programming
Analogue and digital electronics from DC to 100MHz
Software design techniques such as UML, OOD, Yourdon
High-level language such as C++, Java or VB in a Windows environment

Design of systems involving high power switch-mode PSUs or medium power RF generators would be a bonus
