Firmware Engineer

SENIOR WIRELESS FIRMWARE ENGINEER SANTA CLARA, CA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

JOB DUTIES:

Design and develop Embedded systems firmware for wireless connectivity test chips implementing WiFi MAC/network layers. This includes but is not limited to: translation of requirements to design specifications, implementing code, testing/debugging code on FPGA/test chips, documenting design and code release.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- High proficiency in C programming language and Embedded system software/firmware development
- Deep technical understanding of Embedded system development methodologies for RTOS (Linux, Threadx, VXWorks etc.,) or bare-metal
- Working knowledge of tasks, threads, inter-process communications and other Embedded operating system concepts and debugging methodologies
- Expertise with cross-compilation, Makefile, release methodologies, version control (git/svn)
- Familiarity with networking protocols and socket programming
- Familiarity with firmware development in the following areas: Bluetooth, WiFi, TCP/IP and power management
- Good team player with strong problem solving and multitasking skills, ability to understand complex flows and algorithms, effective and can-do attitude.
- BS or MS or PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering

PREFERRED:

- Experience in developing Medium Access Controller Firmware for Wireless LAN or Bluetooth or other radios a plus
- Experience in Linux WLAN/Bluetooth driver stack a plus
- Experience with low-level firmware (boot-loader, linker scripts) a plus
- Experience in debugging/SoC bring-up/board-level bring-up a plus
