Electronics/Firmware Engineer

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Electronics/Firmware Engineer to join a number of exciting and challenging product development programmes.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will join a highly focused project team, working on the most technologically advanced of products, with responsibility for ensuring that JCB machine electronic systems are the most technologically advanced and competent on the market.

In liaison with internal and external customers, you will be responsible for:
- Design and development of new tractor ECU's, systems and displays
- Design and coding of safety critical software for existing systems
- Testing and validation of vehicle hardware and software systems
- Development of technical specifications and instructions

The successful candidate will be:
- Educated to a minimum HND level in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar
- Able to demonstrate significant experience in automotive electronic hardware and Real Time Embedded systems design
- A proficient C language programmer and have safety critical software design experience
- Able to understand and contribute to the development of CAN bus networks and vehicle harness architecture

In addition to the above, a working knowledge of MISRA guidelines and experience with agricultural tractors, commercial vehicles, or off road vehicles would be desirable.
