Firmware Engineer/Junior Firmware Engineer - £35k+ DOE - Gloucestershire - C, C++, Hardware, software

An excellent opportunity has arisen in Gloucestershire for a skilled Firmware Engineer to join a leading global Oil and Gas Company.

As the successful Firmware engineer your role will be to create, debug and test firmware for electronic devices used in RSS tools. Daily responsibilities will include thorough liaison with the control systems engineers and hardware designers to write and deliver code to timelines for use within electronic devices.

You will have a technical responsibility to deliver innovative solutions and develop firmware that will enable existing and future product lines to remain competitive.

To be considered you will have all or most of the following:

Essential:

- Degree qualification - 2:1 or above
- 2 - 5 years experience in firmware development
- C, C++ programming skills
- Assembly language
- Experience of dealing with low power electronics
- Ability to read schematics and knowledge of electronic hardware
- Understanding of Printed Circuit Boards

Desirable:

- Preferably previous experience within the automotive or Oil and Gas industry
- Working knowledge of high temperature electronics.
