We are hiring a Firewall Engineer to work onsite at our Tier One Banking client.
Title: Junior Firewall Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6 months +
Term: Contract/C2C
Client: Banking/Financial
Rate: Market
RECENT INVESTMENT BANKING/FINANCIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)
Experience and Skills:
- three (3) years of experience in information technology and at least 2 years in information security and network related functions
- experience with Checkpoint Smart Domain Manager
- basic understanding of network principals and traffic flow
- basic knowledge of VMware network components
- knowledge of protocols and technologies such as TCP, UDP, SSL, FTP, and DHCP
- intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- ability to work effectively, independent of assistance or supervision
- ability to interpret information security data and processes to identify potential compliance issues
- ability to quickly understand security systems in order to identify and validate security requirements
- information Security best practices and common processes
- self-motivated, self-directed and shows attention to detail while working
- strong oral and written communication skills
Job Responsibilities:
- Support a group of Project Managers by providing Firewall prep work in the form of generating Firewall usage/conversation reports. Creating INCR requests to migrate existing rules onto new physical/virtual Servers by creating conversation maps and submitting them to a Security group for approval.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues throughout the Firewall infrastructure for migrated Servers.
- Logging into Checkpoint Smart Domain Manager (Read only) and search Smart Dashboard and Smart Tracker to troubleshoot Firewall connectivity issues.
