Position Description:
You would be working for a company within the SunGard group, a global leader in software and processing solutions for financial services, higher education and the public sector. SunGard helps information-dependent enterprises of all types to ensure the continuity of their business serving more than 25,000 customers in more than 50 countries, including the world's 50 largest financial services companies.

SunGard APT and FastVal produce risk analysis and derivatives pricing tools for financial clients. Using an advanced factor based statistical analysis APT is able to deliver raw risk data as well as rich analytic reports. FastVal provides independent pricing for financial derivatives used by banks, insurance companies and asset managers.
Role Overview:

We are looking for an intern to join a team of experienced quantitative analysts across our suite of applications.

The role involves working with developers and business analysts who are required to produce solutions for our financial institution clients. You will learn about modern techniques of quantitative development for securities pricing and portfolio risk management.

Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnose issues with mathematical software for derivatives pricing and risk analysis
Create, maintain and execute test cases/scenarios.
Take responsibility for completing tasks to a high standard
Document business requirements and solutions

This role will provide:

Position Requirements:
You will need to have:
Excellent problem solving abilities
Excellent mathematical skills
Some experience of mathematical programming
Good communication skills, European language skills an advantage
Statistics knowledge and an understanding of finance is an advantage
A passion for technology and a close attention to detail
Good Excel skills
Self-motivated but able to work within a team
Pro-active and enthusiastic with a can do attitude and a commitment to solving client problems
2:1 or higher in an analytical discipline (eg Computer Science, Maths, Finance, Physics, Engineering etc.)
