Financial Markets Functional Support Engineer

For a world leader in the financial market, we are looking for a Functional Support Engineer.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months contracts, with possible extension
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Language: English
The team consists of 6 Quants, 5 Quants Integrators and 3 Ops and is responsible for developing and supporting in house applications used by the world-wide departments Trading, Sales and Market Risk Management. The main applications are Interest rate, Inflation and Credit Derivatives Market Risk reporting Market Data Calculation Service for Curves and Volatilities related.
The team supports the Interest rate, Inflation and Credit derivatives competence center in Brussels, which includes the Exotic Derivatives desk and the Long Term Interest Rate Derivatives desk.
Responsibilities:
The Functional Support Engineer's responsibilities cover:
1. Operate and support
- Daily management of the applications (identification and solving of issues).
- Management of end users requests (assessment and prioritisation).
- Incident management (registration, follow-up and documentation).
- Problem management (identification, solution and follow-up).
- Functional system administration (configuration, setup tasks, new reports).
- Static data management
2. Test and release process
- Building, testing and execution of performance and production acceptance tests.
- Define acceptance criteria
- Follow-up the release phases and liaise with the developers, the business, the IT departments and Market Risk department
3. Scrum Process
- Participation in planning and estimation process.
- Creation of user stories following incidents.
- Participation in sprint demos.
- Participation in stand-ups.
- Participation in retrospectives.
Education
- You have a Financial/Mathematical/Economics background or have an equivalent experience.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in a support function or business analyst function within a Dealing room environment.
- You have some knowledge of SQL query language.
Professional skills
- You are customer focussed and a team player.
- You have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- You are an expert in OIS curve building framework and Swaption and Cap floor volatilities. You are familiar with Broker contributed pages like ICAP. You understand how derivatives are priced with the market data and you understand the concepts behind market risks reports (Greeks, HVAR, etc ).
- Being familiar with standard market application like Summit is an asset.
- You can communicate with MRM and Trading experts and discuss Quantitative issues relating to market data, modelling, risk measures, etc.Michael Bailey International is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
