The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its CORPORATE SERVICES DIRECTORATE (CS) - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT (IT) - RISK, DATA AND INTEGRATION DIVISION (RDI) - RISK APPLICATIONS UNIT (RA), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a FINANCIAL & LIQUIDITY RISK SOFTWARE SPECIALIST

THE TERM OF THIS CONTRACT WILL BE 4 YEARS

The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs, with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirementsand individual performance.

PURPOSE

Within the Information Technology Department, the primary role of the Risk, Data and Integration Division (RDI) is to deliver IT solutions and services in the fields of Risk Management, Business Intelligence and Data Integration. The division is comprised of three units: Risk Applications, Data Warehouse & Reporting and Integration.

The Financial & Liquidity Risk Software Specialist will drive the development, implementation and maintenance of financial and liquidity Risk Management solutions, covering off-the-shelf software (eg Numerix, IBM Algorithmics) and bespoke solutions. These solutions ensure that the computations required for the Bank's reporting are performed consistently and accurately in alignment with the standards outlined by the Basel Supervisory Committee.

OPERATING NETWORK

The Risk Applications Unit is comprised of approximately 7 internal staff and 7 external consultants. The incumbent will report to the Head of Risk Applications Unit and whenever required to the Head of Division.

Externally, s/he will deal on a day to day basis with key external parties (software vendors, providers of outsourced services, peer groups, etc.) in the Risk Management area in order to optimise service levels and stay abreast of best practice.

Internally, s/he will cooperate with counterparties from Risk Management and Finance departments in order to ensure that appropriate internal service provision and control are maintained and to ensure understanding of IT methodology.
