Financial IT Manager - Web Application Development

A leading Financial Services in Chicago is seeking an IT Manager for a newly formed Application Development Team. The team will focus primarily on multiple clients facing websites, with each website representing a separate line of business. This is a full-time role located in downtown Chicago.

The main focus of this role will focus on financial website platforms. Previous experience with website applications and web frameworks will be expected of all applicants. Previous financial experience is also required, especially within the financial services, investments and mutual funds.

This is a hands-off management focused role, but previous technical experience with Java is strong encouraged.

Other responsibilities include:

* Managing more than 20 technical full-time and contract employees
* Working closely with internal IT Managers and Business Managers
* Work closely with outside vendors and clientele
* Manage and forecast budget needs and analysis
* Performance management and career development of full time employees

Qualifications for this role include:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
* A background in Java
* 5-7 years of experience with website applications
* 3-5 years of experience within the financial space
* Experience with the agile methodology
* Previous work as an architect is preferred
