€520 a day - Fluent in Dutch AND French with at least EXCELLENT understanding of the other language - Fluent spoken & written English is MANDATORY

The Financial Controller is responsible for supporting the service unit Central Services Operations in all aspects of planning and performance management and for ensuring that the DirCom have a clear and comprehensive understanding of the performance, present and future, of the unit. He/she is responsible for identifying business and financial risks and challenges facing the unit and for leading the process of taking actions to mitigating those risks and meeting those challenges. He/she is responsible for devising the performance management framework specific to the unit, the management information and the key performance measures. He/she ensures that the financial and internal control standards are complied with.

CONTEXT

Brussels based. Reports to the Finance manager Corporate & Group. In a team responsible for the internal group financial reporting and analysis, business control of central units and the financial planning processes.
The Expert Group Business Controller is responsible for the group financial reporting to the CFO, Dircom, Board and Investor Relations of the monthly/quarterly results and group forecast/budget results, for the coordination of the budget/forecasting cycle and to assist with the budget preparation of projects.

TASKS

- Timely delivery of a reliable monthly/quarterly group reporting under IFRS, and of the forecast and budget results. Including:

* Variance analysis of all P&L elements, identifying focus areas, consolidation of key messages based on Business unit and Service unit reporting and presentations.
* Preparation of the presentation: content alignment with Group Finance and Investor Relations' press release. Review/validation with the CFO. The presentations are for Dircom, Board and Investor Relations.
- Coordination of the budget and forecast process, with the Business and Service Unit controlling teams, Group Finance and Tax.

* Organise progress status and alignment meetings
* Validate forecasted intercompany (ICO) flows
* Prepare general financial assumptions
* Supervise quality of project budgeting. Provide ad hoc support to controlling teams. Prepare summaries for approval committees.
*Various ad hoc analyses at the request of the CFO and Group Controlling Director
- Assist with the update of the LT Business plan
- Back-up for colleagues in the Controlling & Performance Management team
- Support the business units and their business unit controllers to determine specific recommendations for performance improvement based on an understanding of the business unit results

SKILLS

- Education and training: University/Master's degree with focus on controlling and accounting
- Required experience for the job: at least 8 years' relevant experience as Corporate Financial Controller (strong background in finance is required)
- Excellent accounting knowledge (incl. IFRS/BGAAP, Consolidation of subsidiaries)
- Local tax and VAT knowledge
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Strong analytical mind
- Excellent knowledge of financial reporting systems in an ERP-environment, of Excel and PowerPoint
