Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen within an international financial service provider to become part of their team as a financial controller. The company have a strong presence in Europe and America engaging in personal banking, wealth management and corporate investment banking.

WHAT'S ON OFFER:

Contract: 6 months

Rate: £300-£400 a day

Location: Canary Wharf

RESPONSIBILITIES:

On joining the team you will be responsible for the guidance and review of reporting processes for results announcements and annual reports across all group levels. You will therefore be responsible for the end- state production of financial statements on the group's annual reports. Whilst maintaining high levels of control, you will be required to ensure that all accounts are in line with current regulatory, statutory and financial reporting standards. Further to this you will be required to support the new IFRS and FSA reporting requirement. Moving forward, your duties will progress to assessing new financial reporting requirements that come into place effecting the business and supporting the implementation of these within your teams. Your team will be made up of three core functions, Reporting, Group Operations and Projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

- University degree or equivalent
- Qualified accountant with relevant experience in an area such as financial reporting or technical accounting in an investment bank
- Initiative and curiosity to challenge current processes and develop effective alternative solutions
- A team player who is able to grasps new concepts and apply existing technical knowledge in order to identify and resolve issues
- Strong awareness and understanding of the key controls required in an investment bank
