Financial Controller

Excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller to work with a well-funded start-up telecoms business focused on the development and growth of MVNOs across Europe and North America. With a number of strategic partnerships in place, there is a platform to support the launch and growth of UK, European and North American MVNOs in 2014 - creating innovation and flexibility.

This role is a key member of the team and provides critical support for the CFO. The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the results and balance sheet. Along with managing a small but growing finance support function. You will take responsibility for the UK, Europe and US and consolidate the business entities (including, US, Bahamas, Sweden, Italy, Denmark and Germany) in order to review potential profitability. In addition, the role also encompasses month end accounting, budgeting, forecasting and statutory accounting. There will also be a need to implement processes and financial controls and roll them out to the business.

The position provides an exposure to all parts of the business and involves dealing with a wide number of people in finance and non-finance areas (including, marketing and sales). It would suit a candidate with strong accounting experience and the ability to identify and manage accounting and control risks. It also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to converse with non-financial people on financial matters.

The successful candidate will not only be technically competent but also commercially savvy, be qualified (ACA, CIMA or ACCA), independent and able to learn the responsibilities quickly. You will also have sound judgement and an ability to pay close attention to detail. Experience of working for a telecoms business is essential and ideally an MVNO.
