Financial Accounting & Control

Financial Control Manager supporting the DRS, Equipment Finance and Invoice Finance Businesses.

Businesses supported by the team include DRS, Equipment Finance and invoice Finance.

1. Month end Close process
*Oversight of month end close done by GFC
*Instructing GFC to post month end journals
*Monitoring provisions made to be made
*P&L Analysis (and where applicable, Balance Sheet) including Trends Analysis and explaining unexpected trends
*Profit Pack Review Process
*Daily/Monthly checklist of tasks performed onshore to be maintained by team and reviewed/signed off by manager. Copies must be maintained for audit purposes.
*Recommend that offshore checklist are reviewed with local managers

2. Balance Sheet Control
*Oversight of balance sheet reconciliation process (including work performed offshore) ensuring all deadlines met and accounts reconciled to agreed standards/procedures
*Onshore review of accounts reconciled offshore such that all accounts across all lines of business covered at least once a quarter
*Ensure that all checklist prepared by India reviewed, challenged and signed off by onshore managers. Copies kept on file for audit purposes
*Ensuring all Assurenet Sign Off and reporting for all accounts complete, accurate and valid and deadlines met
*Complete and accurate submission of reconciliation certificate and summarised version to HBEU team and deadlines met
*Complete and accurate summary for reconciliation issues to business
*All non compliance and non response by business to be escalated to be reported
*Population control of GL accounts maintained and half yearly check to ensure that all procedures relevant and updated
*System fixes causing reconciliation issues to be sent to business and non resolution to be escalated effectively
*The above applies to both on and off balance sheet accounts

3. New Business Requirements
*Supporting Financial Control elements of new business product requirements
*Effective introduction of new system/s and adequate escalation if not working as requested/prescribed

4. Governance
*Monthly meeting with business partners in Birmingham/Worthing
*Monthly FC meeting with Business Finance
*Pre-month end close meetings with Business and CFO
*Monthly meeting with offshore team in Hyderabad
