Financial Assistant Accountant

The Role

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting. You will be a pivotal resource in the preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations and the resolution of key issues.

Key Accountabilities

Balance sheet reconciliations:

- Interrogation of balance sheet across a number of legal entities
- Work closely with financial controllers and sub ledger team to produce accurate and substantiated balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate imbalances/unsubstantiated balances and communicate potential upsides and downsides to the Head of Financial Accounting in a timely manner

Resolution of issues

- Work closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and the rest of the team to resolve issues identified within the balance sheet reconciliation process

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will be a newly Qualified Accountant with at least 3 years experience within a Financial Accounting function. You will also:

- Have a CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualification, or equivalent.
- Proven experience of the investigation and resolution of complex issues.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to communicate complex financial data in an articulate and concise way.
- Have an adaptable work style, be a team player and comfortable to operate in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Have a great deal of experience in the production and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations
- Have a high level of Oracle financial systems experience
