Financial Analyst Job

FINANCIAL ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity for Yoh's client located in Walnut Creek, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Supervises and coordinates daily collection and rollup of critical status metrics
- Creates executive level graphs to visually display status information
- Builds, Manages, and maintains, a reporting infrastructure consisting of databases connected to linked Excel spreadsheets
- Maintains and updates executive tracking documents such as project timeline, schedule, and capacity plan
- Maintains a large and complex project plan in MS Project that rolls up several sub projects.
- Maintains and updates status documents from several teams (eg business, development, testing, change management, etc.) for rollup into a master plan
- Assists with meeting facilitation and project management to resolve issues and risks that arise during the course of the project

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or extensive on the job experience in Business Administration and Project Management.
- Strong analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Able to distill complex and very detailed status information into simple-to-understand graphs suitable for executive management
- Expert at Excel, especially graphing datasets, linking spreadsheets together stored on SharePoint, complex Excel formulas (eg VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS, Pivot tables, etc.)
- Familiarity with databases; Ability to create database queries, automate those queries, and export to Excel
- Skills in Visual Basic or other automation tools a plus but not required
- Candidate needs to be flexible and willing to learn new skills on short notice.
- Analyst will be part of a small Oversight Team, consisting of 6 individuals and responsible for overall project management and status tracking. Other Responsibilities will be assigned as well and a flexible approach to responsibilities and work assignments is absolutely necessary.
- Exceptional Excel skills, including complex formulas, combinations of formulas, processing data exported from databases, graphing and visualization of data, skills with Visual Basic or other automation tools are plus.
