This is the entry level job, responsible for conducting or assisting in the documentation of simple to moderate financial analysis projects. Overall, this person also has to have an analytical mind, want to learn the business side of the house, and also present and communicate to clients. This person would also have the role of Reporting Analyst, where they would understand and relate the processes of the business to reporting for the clients. They would also create and QA reports specific to the client each month-end, attend calls and answer questions through ad hoc analysis or just general knowledge of the client and best practices.


- Typically has finance degree and fewer than two years of experience.
- MS Office suite, expert user. Excel and Access are critical.
- MS Office experience needs to include robust VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) Scripting experience behind both Excel and Access applications. This would include using VBA as an automation tool for report generation, process handling, calls to SQL Servers, and file handling/ETL. Equivalent VB (dot Net) experience is acceptable.
- On the MS Access side, need someone experienced with using it as a tool to both create workflows & reports as well as using it to create stand-alone applications.
- Knowledge of task scheduling tools, including the ability to write simple to medium-complexity batch files or VBS scripts in support of reporting automation.
- A firm understanding of database structure and experience with creating and managing interrelated databases is critical as builds and deployments across multiple platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL server or even into MS Access.
- SQL experience is absolutely critical. In addition to the DBA tasks referenced above need someone with experience writing, deploying and maintaining queries & stored procedures. This is a critical skill for data mining, which is a fairly large part of the job.
- SSIS/SSRS (SQL server integration and reporting services) skills would be nice but we're not currently utilizing those tools in our current workflows.
- Nice to have someone with experience with SharePoint 2010, including SharePoint Designer for custom workflow builds. Intermediate skills here are fine.
