Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst required for my client, a world renowned, blue chip Pharmaceutical business, on a 12 month contract basis, covering maternity. This is an excellent opportunity to work for this leading organisation, based within their Cambridge Offices.

ROLE SUMMARY - KEY ACTIVITIES

Financial analysis & support

o Proactively, provide detailed financial analysis and support to business team members or other members of the finance team.

o Aid business decision making.

Business/Financial case preparation

o Support the business/financial case preparation for projects and investment initiatives.

o Knowledge of the financial modelling of different scenarios.

o Post mortem analyses on investments/projects against original cases.

Budget/Forecast & scenario planning

o Work with finance and business team members to develop budgets and forecasts.

o Assist in scenario planning and forecasting to demonstrate the effect of alternative assumptions.

o Calculations, analysis, research and presentation development, eg making sure there are no errors in the data used and the information is complete or chasing other departments for their input.

Business knowledge development

o The FBA will continuously work on developing their understanding of the business and the key drivers from the marketplace that affect the business.

o The interaction with members of the business as well as with business partners from other functions plays an integral part in this development.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE

- Experience in a similar role previously.
- Ideally be qualified/part qualified in ACCA or CIMA.
- Be advanced on Excel and ideally able to provide modelling support.
- Basic understanding of industry drivers
- Strong analytical and communications skills
- Learn and understand quickly new activities/tasks
- Effective teamwork, resolving diverse controlling and analysis requirements
- Ability to deputize for more senior controllers when required

SALARY & BENEFITS

- Start date: ASAP
- Rate: 17-25 ph (depending upon experience)
