Financial Accounting Specialist

My major client in Dublin, Ireland are urgently seeking a Financial Accounting Contract Specialist.

* Preparation of the Tax provision calculation for US GAAP and local GAAP requirements
* Preparation of accounting and tax treatment memorandums.
* Responsibility for the maintenance of the Senior Accounting Officer controls (SAO) and ensuring the annual certification deadlines are adhered to.
* Preparation of the monthly Tax balance sheet reconciliations
* Responsibility for the preparation of the year-end tax package for submission to the Global tax group as well as answering queries and providing data as required.
* Calculation of the Effective Tax Rate on a quarterly basis using the Company's Taxstream Tool
* Review of the Tax forecast on a quarterly basis and update for any required amendments
* Liaising with tax advisors answering queries & providing data as required.
* Develop and manage the relationship with the Global tax Group.
* Statutory Billing - assist in preparation of fee arrangements and calculations for the monthly charges from the shared service center to the European countries and calculation of any necessary true-ups.
* Preparation of the Global recharges - involves initial SAP downloads and basic analysis.
* Involvement in setting up and improving on processes with a view to making them more efficient
* Facilitate and provide cross team support as required
* Maintain service level with customer base - measure progress against Service Level Agreement and consistently satisfy customer in a 'metrics focused' organisation.
* Develop an in-depth knowledge of local tools and applications in support of General Ledger processing.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Professional accountancy qualification, eg ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA
* Professional Tax qualification or working towards this
* Exposure to UK/Irish & US GAAP and previous experience with SAP an advantage
* Proficient on Excel
