Roc Search's client, a City of London based Tier 1 Banking client are looking for an Financial Accountant/Statutory Reporting Analyst to join their team on a 6 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a high profile FINREP project and will be a great addition to any CV.

The Role
This wide ranging and challenging opportunity includes the following specific responsibilities:
Support the continued assessment of accounting developments in conjunction with Accounting Policy.
Support the engagement with Finance Change on relevant programmes, representing statutory Reporting.
Providing expert statutory reporting advise and input into relevant finance programmes
Support relevant Statutory Reporting change requirements for the benefit of the function and the wider finance community
Providing support to the line BAU teams where appropriate.
Reviewing and writing relevant project documents (eg Business Requirements, Terms of reference, Impact assessments etc)
Ensuring key decision makers have appropriate information, support and evidence for decisions that are required to be made
On going business partnership with Accounting Policy in relation to technical aspects of new accounting standards.

Other role responsibilities include:
Provide support and resolution to data remediation.
Provide finance expertise on banking products for disclosure purposes.
Ensure appropriate timeliness, accuracy and quality of all outputs.
Ensure processes and procedures adhere to the appropriate policies and control environment (inc SOX) governance.
Engagement of key stakeholders in GCA, GFS and BUC.
Appropriate interaction with change programmes affecting the delivery of the team.
Collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure that related processes and efficiencies are aligned.
Interact and give constructive support to resources in Singapore and Delhi.
Build up an effective feedback mechanism; interact with business on an ongoing basis.
Continuously look to improve the way we work.
Ensure that customer expectations are met in the best possible manner.
Support business with any ad hoc analysis & reporting as and when required.
Create strong inter departmental relationships built on trust and partnership.

Experience - What previous experience is required for the role?

Strong people, process and systems skills and understanding with a keen interest in improving existing systems and challenging existing processes where appropriate.
Good communicator with ability to determine the level of information required by an audience
Sound analytical and mathematical skills, with financial controls knowledge and experience
Experience of acting creatively and practically in approach to solving problems and providing reliable deliveries
Experience of investigating and probing issues with cross-divisional and cross department impact
Experience of using technology to deliver business solutions.
Have demonstrated a proven ability to identify, analyse and resolve issues with minimal supervision
Strong Team player, with excellent interaction & communication skills

Technical Capabilities - What are the specific skills, knowledge and abilities required for the role?

Excellent understanding of financial market and corporate client banking and its drivers
An understanding of a Bank's financial statements
A strong understanding of IFRS Accounting Standards
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, particularly MS Excel
Knowledge of Microsoft Access and/or database applications
Knowledge of change best practice and experience of delivering change in the financial services industry.
Understanding of ledgers, especially in relation financial markets and corporate banking products
