Financial Accountant - Market Rate

RZ Group is currently looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to work on an initial 6 month contract for a large public sector client based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will provide support to the Head of Finance. Responsible for ensuring all tasks within the Financial Policy and Services department are carried out within agreed timescales.

*Preparation of month end financial board reports and management information
*Providing financial advice to colleagues
*Providing high quality, reliable, accurate and timely financial information
*Assisting in the annual budgeting process
*Establishing and maintaining close effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
*Assist with the preparation of annual Financial Statements
*Maintaining an up to date and comprehensive understanding of current public expenditure accounting and developments within the IFRS regime
*Assist in system developments, upgrades and implementations
*Responsible for cash management

Essential:

*Accountancy qualifications eg ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, at least 2 years experience gained
within last 5 years of preparing public sector accounts on IFRS basis
*Competent use of word, excel, outlook
*Managing and monitoring budgets and allocation of resources
*Knowledge of current IAS's, IFRS's

Occasional travel may be required.
