Financial Accountant- Group Accounting - ACA/ACCA

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT- GROUP ACCOUNTING -ACA/ACCA

The role provides critical accounting support to the team, directorate and wider company. The successful applicant will play a key part in ensuring group accounting policy compliance, managing the quarterly statutory audits and completion of consolidated UK monthly reporting to Group.

The position provides exposure to all parts of the UK business and will require dealing with a wide number of people in finance and non-finance areas.

Responsibilities:

- Delivery of the monthly reporting of UK financial information to the Group. The delivery of these items will require a strong working relationship with the group finance team and strong accounting compliance with both accounting standards and group accounting policies.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly balance sheet pack for the UK trading Group, including the follow-up and resolution of anomalies; this will require a proactive approach, driving clear and concise results from the finance teams.
- Significant responsibility for the external audit relationship, ensuring that the audit deliverables are accurately delivered to the audit team and the audit is suitably supported by the finance team. This will again require a significant amount of internal management of various teams across the business to enable the delivery of a clean audit.
- Anticipating and identifying changes in accounting standards as the business develops, establishing and reviewing financial procedures and controls on an on-going basis to identify and resolve accounting and reporting risks. This will require a keen knowledge of both accounting standards and the ability to apply these to changes within a business.

Skills and experience:

- The successful candidate should be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with at least 2 year post qualified experience.
- Strong technical accounting skills - preferably trained in audit
- Proven track record of interpreting and applying accounting standards in a practical situation.
