Financial Accountant (Capex) - 6 months - Warwick - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Energy and Utility client of Hyphen is looking for a Financial Accountant with strong CAPEX skills to join their team in Warwick as part of a large scale Finance Project within the Business.

Job Purpose:-

A member of the team managing the SAP Financial Asset Ledger. The scope ranges from the setup of SAP Project data in the system to the creation of linked Asset data, carrying out SAP Depreciation, SAP Settlements and other Asset Ledger related adjustments. We work with our partners at TATA Consultancy in India who carry out the transactional and process driven work for us. This person will need to understand how asset ledger postings can affect the General Ledger, be comfortable with investigating system configuration when required that drive those postings and be able to work with a number of contacts from technical teams, offshore teams, financial teams through to non-financial project personnel.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

Strong analytical and modelling skills
Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
Good communication and influencing skills to Senior Manager level.
Knowledge of Asset Accounting Policies, Guidelines and Procedures
Good knowledge of accounting systems and packages eg SAP, Ellipse, BI

Key Tasks:-

The Capex Team sits within the Record to Report Process Function of Finance which is an arm of our Shared Services Function. This service manages the project and capex accounting activity. Team members have the opportunity to work with all levels across a wide spectrum of National Grid. This section of the company consistently receives high scores for employee engagement and development in the annual employee surveys.

*WBS Maintenance - Creation, Adjustments and Closures
*Settlement - Transfer of costs to final destination as per master data set up for WBS, PM Work Orders and Real Estate Contracts
*SAP Financial Register Maintenance - Assets Under Construction (AUC) Commissioning, Asset Transfers, Carrying Value Adjustments and Depreciation
*Value of Work Done (VOWD) Accrual Journal
*Upload of SAP values into PIER
*Production of Asset Scheme Reports (scheme movements and commissioning)
