Financial Accountant and Analyst

Hudson is recruiting for a Financial Accountant for a large and growing public sector organisation based in Birmingham for a temporary contract, for at least 4 months.

THE ROLE

As a Financial Accountant, you will be involved in the development of new reporting requirements in accordance with financial legislation whilst also take the led for the department. Thus, you will maintain strong controls, processes and procedures whilst reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and maintain the regulatory reporting framework for the department
- Challenge business heads cost control, in-line with budget responsibility for the compilation of the company's monthly and quarterly returns
- Responsibility for reviewing complex guidance to ensure correct data items are documented
- Develop and maintain the management accounting framework for the department
- Develop accurate and timely preparation and distribution of management accounts and financial reporting
- Responsibility for facilitating the reporting requirements of treasury transactions
- Develop forecasting and budgeting framework
- In addition, reconciliations and year end

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

- Qualified/Finalist - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Desired Public Sector environment but not essential
- Experienced in dealing with complex data
- Strong Excel - pivot tables, look-ups and Cognos
- Demonstrable experience in reporting back to senior management and directors

WHAT IS ON OFFER?

A fixed term contract £40,000 or £280 a day.
