Financial Accountant

12 month contract Our client is a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh city centre. They are currently looking for a recently qualified Accountant to join the Reporting Production Team. This team is responsible for the production of all IFRS and Regulatory reports for certain areas of the business. Key Responsibilities:*Prepare IFRS group submissions / regulatory returns for specified subsidiary companies, ensuring compliance with Group / Regulatory requirements.*Prepare annual statutory accounts for a range of subsidiary entities.*Develop an understanding of the detailed accounting for the transactions recorded in the ledgers.*Ensure all accounting data is prepared and reported in accordance with relevant reporting standards and business reporting requirements.*Provide input into the development of financial reporting processes to ensure the production of the required financial reports in as efficient a manner as possible. *Undertake project work to support the development of robust and effective financial reporting and investment accounting data.*Maintain a sound knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and industry practice in order to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.*Apply theoretical accounting principles to complex practical situations.About You:*Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) is essential *Good knowledge and experience of working in an IFRS and regulatory reporting environment is desirable but not a requirement*Experience in Financial Services is helpful*Strong communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues at all levels*Good approach to teamwork*Strong Excel skills
