I have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Subject Matter Expert to join a leading service provider within the financial services sector, in Bristol. The contract opportunity holds an initial 3 month contract with a daily pay rate of up to £600 per day.

The client is looking for an experienced finance SME to define and implement the strategic Asset Data & Reporting solution to support investment accounting and the wider insurance business.

The successful candidate will work closely with the business to understand and document the business requirements, define and agree improved solutions covering:

1. The addressed data gaps in the current solution and supporting future data requirements
2. Improvement and standardisation of financial processes, controls and reporting
3. Liaising with the IT group to define the improved systems solutions.

The client is looking for a candidate with:

1. An accountancy qualification with strong technical experience in being able to map detailed investment asset positions into IFRS reporting structures. Knowledge of SII reporting would be helpful, but not mandatory.
2. Knowledge and experience of finance processes (eg regulatory/statutory year-end reporting), controls and reporting within investment accounting and/or the Insurance industry.
3. Strong experience in reconciling general ledger balances to detailed asset positions held in a data warehouse.
4. Business requirements development experience.
5. Business solution definition and development experience.
6. Process modelling experience.
7. End-to-end solutions feasibility assessment (including traceability verification) experience.
8. User training definition, development and delivery experience.
