FINANCE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

The primary purpose of this job position is to develop, implement and maintain systems to operate the business office in an effective, efficient manner to operate the facility in a financially sound manner, and to maintain financial systems in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate finance functions with other departments relating to the A/P function and general ledger maintenance.
- Organize finance functions relating to A/P and general ledger.
- Work cooperatively with facility staff on all finance related issues.
- Evaluate need for and requisition and maintain adequate supplies and equipment for use to perform job responsibilities.
- Maintain an effective, organized, efficient computer system to meet the needs of the business office. (PointClickCare, Excel spreadsheets as necessary)
- Prepare and submit reports on a timely basis to the Director of Finance as required and as directed. (Financial rations, account reconciliations, daily financial snapshots, etc.)
- Compile and maintain accurate statistics as required.
- Process correspondence related to finance.
- Communicate and work cooperatively with fiscal intermediaries, accountants, auditors, cost report preparers, and private insurance companies relating to finance functions.
- Communicate and work cooperatively with facility vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Develop an accurate accounts payable documentation and retrieval system.
- Prepare checks, invoices, vouchers, and pay authorized bills.
- Coordinate credit program with outside vendors and maximize discounted payment term opportunities.
- Maintain accurate, neat, and organized files of all A/P records so that they may be promptly retrieved.
- Observe all facility safety policies and procedures.
- Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner.
- Observe infection control procedures.
- Observe facility Residents' Rights policies and procedures.
- Observe all facility policies and procedures.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Assume accountability for all finance-related data contained in the employees' handbook.
- Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as directed by COO, Director of Finance, or Executive Director.
- Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary services providers.
- Demonstrate ability to understand and comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Must possess, as a minimum, a four-year college degree with concentration in Accounting.

LICENSURE

None required

EXPERIENCE

- Two (2) or more years experience working in a finance-related field
- Experience working in long-term care desired
- Possess ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
