My client, a leading UK Retail bank, are looking for a strong Finance Project Manager to join their Insurance division. The successful applicant will have previously worked for a finance function within Financial Services.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

- Experienced Project Manager to support the workstream leads/Programme Manager in delivering business critical complex project in short space of time.  Takes responsibility for achieving a defined output in support of a business goal. Ensures delivery to agreed business plans within cost, quality and timescale objectives, and ensures that the benefits in the business case can be realised.
- Manages risks, issues, dependencies effectively
- Is a good communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills across all levels
- Can provide clarity and is a good at problem solving
- Previously worked for a Finance Function and has knowledge of SAP and Oracle
- Understands the complexities of Finance processes
- Required to be mobile across the following locations Edinburgh, Bristol, London and Germany. There will be at times a need to travel to Germany to meet with the business Subject Matter Experts.

CORE SKILLS

- APMP qualified or equivalent
- Previously worked for a Finance Function and has knowledge of SAP and Oracle
- Understands the complexities of Finance processes

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Works with the business area to ensure an effective approach to business implementation, handover, and acceptance of the change.
- Governance and Reporting: Works closely with the Programme Leads to provide regular status reporting appropriately to different stakeholders and to agreed standards and recommend options for contingency plans.
- Project Delivery: Defines and implements a detailed delivery approach for each stage of the project life cycle, obtains acceptance and buying to the approach from all team members, and produces and owns all project management deliverables, using established project methodologies, to the right level of quality.
- Planning and Finance: Produces and owns their project plan. Controls, manages and monitors project timescales and budgets, reporting variances, escalating as appropriate to overcome delays, difficulties or cost over-runs, and re-forecasting where necessary.
- Resource Management: Tracks resource requirements (including roles and responsibilities) and FTE profile for areas of responsibility.
- Stakeholder Management: Identifies key project stakeholders and develops an appropriate stakeholder communication plan.
- Engages with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence direction of projects to meet the project milestones.
- People and Self Development: Where appropriate, manages, motivates, develops and coaches assigned team members to create a high performing team.
- Risk: Continuously monitors projects for risk issues and regulatory compliance and takes appropriate steps to mitigate.

DESIRED SKILLS

- Divestment experience would be an advantage but not a requirement
- Speaking German would be an advantage but not a requirement
