My top client, a major investment bank located in Stamford, CT is hiring a Finance Project Manager. This is a junior-mid level role, someone with work experience ranging from 3-10 years. This is NOT an IT role. You will be working within the Change Management department. This will be a 6+ month contract that the manager will look to constantly extend or turn full time - please do not apply unless you are interested in something long term. Overall Objective and Purpose The PM takes ownership for ensuring On Time, On Budget, On Scope, On Quality delivery of technical or business end-to-end change projects, where a project is a unique endeavor with a defined end result. This means in practice: Typical areas of focus will include: Manage and co-ordinate projects from initiation through implementation, including planning, analysis, design, development, implementation and closure / handover to BAU (post implementation) Establish the governance required for the project (e.g. frequency of working groups / steering committee) Manage key stakeholder relationships e.g. sponsor, working groups, steering committee Establish project level requirements, priorities and deadlines Plan realistically to the task / resource level, including budget, benefits management, delivery timeframes, milestones and deliverables Manage the quality of the project through formal quality gate reviews and early stakeholder engagement Complete ownership of the budget for the project lifecycle (Estimating, planning, agreeing and managing the project budget) Create and maintain the project plan, RAID logs and other key PM documents including the ToR, PID, PDD, DSC and PIR Co-ordinate internal resources and lead the project hiring process of external resources if required. Manage and lead the project team. Resolve cross-functional issues at project level Monitor project progress and performance, actively managing risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, and making decisions or recommendations for adjustments as necessary Manage project scope and change control, escalating issues where necessary Report project status in line with governance requirements to the agreed set of stakeholders through periodic communications as agreed during initiation Ensuring the project satisfies the business goals Escalate and provide options / recommendation to the Steering Committee if the project appears to exceed budgetary, timeframe tolerances Manage work packages across work streams and ensure the adoption of project delivery best practices / tools e.g. GBM Way, Clockwork, Galaxy. PlanIT, Harbour Where vendors are involved, conduct vendor selection process if required and manage the relationship with the suppliers / vendors Requirements Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Math or Business preferred) * 3-10+ years of Project Management experience * Working knowledge of markets product to include: o Derivatives (rates, credit, equity) o Treasury, Agency and Mortgages o Futures and Options o FX and Equities
